Frequently Asked Questions, and Information about the new barcoding system
Little Forest is happy that since the 2011 Consignment Sale some wonderful changes have taken place. LFP made the decision to start using a bar coding system. The cost of the seller’s fee is $7.50. As a seller you will have to pay it at each sale you participate in. Here are some of the features the bar coding system will make your life as a seller much easier:
• “In place” editing allows YOU to directly edit your items in your inventory list. No need to open another form for editing. Makes editing existing inventory quick and easy!
• The bar coding link will be up year round. So you can tag whenever you want!
• You will be able to print fully bar-coded, easy to read tags on your home computer, at your convenience.
• You can easily re-use tags from items that did not sell at a past sale, no re-tagging needed
• Pay the seller’s fee online during registration
• Electronically accept our Seller Agreement during registration
• No tag pulling! This means you won’t have to worry you didn’t get a tag back.
As a volunteer you will be able to:
• Volunteers will be able to register for volunteer shifts online
• You will be sent “reminder emails” to remind you of your assigned volunteer shift
Little Forest will be able to:
• Ability to search inventory during our sale – especially helpful to re-tagging items that have lost their tags
• Print checks for sellers within 3 days of sale
• Upload seller reports online so that our sellers can view them
Common Questions you might have:
Q: What is the seller’s fee for?
A: This fee is to cover the cost of advertising, equipment needed to run the sale, administrative costs, computerized bar coding system, 4 computerized cashiers, and MORE! Please remember that if you do not pay the seller’s fee you will be unable to access the bar coding system to start tagging your items.
Q: How do I pay my seller’s fee?
A: For instance payment and access to your account you must use PayPal, either pay with an existing account or create an account. Other options are to mail a check to Little Forest Playschool (3880 Villa St, Los Alamos NM 87455) please include, with your check, your name, seller id and email address; or bring in payment to Little Forest Playschool. If you choose to mail or bring in your payment, LFP will email you with a confirmation that your seller’s fee has been paid and you will be able to continue registering.
Q: How will I print my bar coded tags out?
A: Any standard inkjet or laser printer will work just fine, but we recommend laser printers as they are more economical when it comes to toner and they do a little better job when printing the barcodes. As a seller you can print all your tags at once, or just a select group of tags. You will also be able to re-print tags anytime. There are no tag printing fees, and no limit on the amount of tags that can be printed.
Q: Will I get a new seller id?
A: No, if you have previously sold with LFP consignment sale you will have your same seller id.
Q: I have previously sold with LFP consignment sale what is my password?
A: The default password is the last 4 digits of your phone number, you provided to us. If no phone number was given, your password is the 4 characters “nown” (the last four characters of the word “unknown”.). If you have attempted to login with what you thought was the last 4 digits of the phone number you provided and it is not working please contact: resale@littleforestplayschool.org and we will be able to look up if what number you provided to us.
Q: If I am a volunteer and am not selling, do I have to pay the seller’s fee?
A: No, you can just register to volunteer. Please remember that volunteer shifts are on a first come basis. If there is not a volunteer shift available when you register that means all the shifts are taken. Please check back or email resale@littleforestplayschoool.org because shifts may open up as people cancel.
Q: I don’t remember my seller’s id. What do I do?
A: Please contact us (resale@littleforestplayschool.org) and we can let you know.
Q: What if I don’t register with the bar coding system?
A: If you DO NOT register using the bar coding system and pay the seller’s fee you are taking a risk of being turned away during drop off. During drop off your items will be checked against your inventory sheet. This will help with LFP knowing what is being brought into the sale.
Q: What if I have already started to tag my items?
A: Unfortunately the new bar coding system does not integrate with the old excel file. You will need to register with the bar coding system and pay the seller’s fee.
We ask that you be patient with LFP as we transition to using this new system. As you can see, using this bar coding system will allow LFP to have more control over our sale and keep better track of the items coming in and being sold at the sale.
